Everybody deserves a good place to grow old.
A better place for the next chapter.
Second Season Living Initiative builds affordable, fully accessible homes for seniors and veterans in Flint — and the kind of close-knit community that makes the later years fuller, not lonelier.
Too many people who built this city can’t afford to grow old in it.
Seniors on fixed incomes and veterans who served get quietly priced out of anywhere safe, accessible, and their own. The choices left are rarely dignified, and almost never feel like home.
Second Season Living builds the answer — homes that are genuinely affordable and made for aging in place, set inside a community designed to keep people connected instead of isolated. Somewhere the next chapter is something to look forward to.
Not a facility. Not a waiting room. A neighborhood — with your own front door, your own kitchen, and neighbors who know your name.
Three promises built into every one.
Built for dignity
Every home is affordable and fully accessible — single-floor living, wide doorways, zero-threshold entries, and a real kitchen and laundry of your own.
A community, not a complex
Homes gather around a shared community center — a place to eat together, take a class, or just not be alone. Elders here have plenty to give back, too: mentorship, a hand, a story.
Rooted in Flint, built to last
Durably and sustainably built, right here at home — meant to stand and serve for the long haul, not the short term.
It starts with ten homes on four and a half acres.
Here’s the first Second Season community, taking shape in Flint — from empty lot to front porches.
Concept renderings — final design subject to change
Home gets built by more than one pair of hands.
However you’re able to show up — a gift, a partnership, or simply following along — there’s a place for you in this.

Your gift puts roofs over the heads of seniors and veterans who’ve earned a dignified place to land. Every dollar builds.
